This is a PIR motion sensor HC-SR505 , which is based on infrared technology, use in the automatic control products. It can used to detect motion from pets/humans from about 3 meters.
This sensor application for robotics and home automation applications where it required to detect changes in the environment and especially human motion. Applications include motion detecting alarm systems, motion detecting robot etc. This module has a very low power consumption about 50µA, and so is especially suitable for battery powered products.
